MARK RONSON

Wednesday, August 27, 2008 | 12:12 am
IS ADORABLE!!!

Bollocks to Noel Gallagher, I don't think Ronson here is ruining other people's songs. Save for the Lily Allen cover of Kaiser Chief's "Oh My God", the rest of the remixes were pretty alright.

And look at him! He's so good looking.
He looks like Jim Halpert's younger brother in the first one huh, Shar?

I STILL DON'T KNOW WHICH CAM TO GET AMG. I've caught the Eunice syndrome howwwww lah. Indecision will be the bane of me.

Conundrum

Which digicam to get with a budget of $550, inclusive of accessories such as carrying case, memory card and replacement battery?

I'm rather partial to Sony's T300, it's soooo pretty and touchscreeny. Seems easy to use too. Comes with a pretty hefty price tag though, especially considering I can get another digicam which can take less noisy images. The reviews online deem it shiteous in terms of image quality which is ultimately what cameras are for in the first place. And the Memory Stick is bloody expensive, compared to the SD cards used by most other cameras. The money would probably be better spent on a beginner's DSLR.

Then there are other models by Canon, Nikon and Olympus which are rather decent that's turning this into such a headache. Their offerings aren't as pretty though :D

And also! The T700 is due to launch in Sept '08. The reviews are considerably more favourable for that one but it's sure to be costlier than the T300.

On the other hand, I might unearth good deals at Comex '08. Just have to brave the insane crowd, it'll probably be like a sauna in there.

So pweeeeety! Nvm, here's hoping that browsing Best Denki / Harvey Norman / Courts later will come to fruition.

Tuition is hard work and parents are a funny bunch.
Getting some help for your child 6 weeks before the big paper and expecting a miracle in the league of the parting of the Red Sea? That's just mental.

With that exception, I find tutoring sorta oooookay so far. Sure, sometimes the kid drives me mad when he still doesn't get the explanation when I've cracked my head trying to find the next best solution for him to chew on but it proves rewarding when he finally gets it. Then there's this thrill about helping the kid achieve the desired grades. I'm probably gonna be more psyched about the PSLE's this year than my first tutee. To me, my cred and sense of satisfaction depend on her grades.

Yep, no pressure.

Part of me wants to go back to the well-paying slack office job that could hardly be called work but the current job's a quaint challenge for me. I think I'm gonna stick to this one for a bit more.

NEVER MIND THE BUZZCOCKS!!!
I hereby pledge my undying affection to Simon, Bill and Phill.
Oh and Ryan "I created Live 8" Jarman is adorably funny.

Ryan: If there's any legal implications involved in this, then, like, I invented Live 8, you see. This is not actually a lie. We were in the recording studio recording our album.I found Bob Geldof's mobile phone number while we were in the recording studio so I sent him a text message just saying "Three words, mate - Live Aid 2". Lo and behold six months later Live 8 comes out. It's just nice to know that you've made a little bit of difference, that's all. It really is.

A multireligious panel of judges! And you're still a twat.

Simon: And Imam Salleh Mohamed, you've heard what the other Jew... you've heard what the other Jew... You've heard what the Jew said! Oh dear... You've heard what the other two judges have said. Who are you going to send home?

Bewilderness

I keep thinking that I should be blogging about matters that are more substantial than youtube videos but that's no fun.

Youtubing is like, a perennial hobby of mine and so damn addictive.
So many goodies! Refer below.

French Lyrics:

Attention!
Attention!

English translation:

Attention!
We are injured
We have a man
He's called Jean-Michel
His leg is broken
With a young girl
She's caled Gisèle
She's so beautiful
They climbed up a tree
To make love
They adopted the missionary position - Its popular
He fell
He broke his leg
Attention!

Bill Bailey - Another one to add on my list of favourite stand ups. He definitely ranks among the top.

In a fog, you are all I see

I never would have thought that one day, a man dressed in ah pek shirt dancing around to some cheeeesy 80's pop song (actually, I kinda like Enola Gay) would make me happy and dare I say it, a little turned on.

He's so kyoooooot! I want to be that girl who dances with him!
So kooky!

MARRY ME GASPARD.

"You are tres funny mademoiselle, but I think... Non!"
"OMG YOU THINK I'M FUNNY. HEEEEEEEEEEEEE. :D"
"Why you still smiling? I said no! You go find ze English, they are less pickeeee."
"Omg he's still talking to me! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE."

Okay, Gaspard left so now I need to find an English guy.

Which brings me to...

JAMES LANCE!!!

He's insanely sexy-voiced!
Even his name feels delicious to pronounce!
And he's a comedian! HOMG.

MARRY ME JAMES LANCE!!!

Sigh. I know, I know.
I should go out a little bit more.
But hey, I have much better taste now right, jaan?

Everything around's breaking down my chaos

I'm super motherfucking damn hell ass bummed.

I'm not gonna get to wear the white coat after all ):

Not even Never Mind The Buzzcocks and my new favourite gay can bring me out of this disappointment.

I guess this is what having an ambition and getting it dashed feels like.

//edit//
Okay, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Simon Amstell can work wonders.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks is genius. Just good TV.

Ricky Wilson is surprisingly pretty funny (and sorta cute and less chubby in there) and the episode on which he guest hosted was hilar!

Watch from 7:17 onwards.

I love the part where Ricky quizzed Phill's (the big guy in brown jacket) team on song lyrics and he replies each one of them with a Kaiser Chiefs song.

"Na na na na na!"

And when Ricky refuses to carry on because Phill's team wasn't taking the game seriously enough:

"I demand quiz! Come on, Kaiser bitch!"

And the ending was just superb. Seriously, go watch. I LOVE NEVER MIND THE BUZZCOCKS.

Life sucks, and then you die.

Jacob's words of wisdom. He is so way likeable again :D

Anyhoo, Breaking Dawn was awful, betches.

Let's all have a ranting session about it one day, and preferably soon!
Shar, acquire your copy vv soon, ok? Same goes for Eunice and Meens too.

And it starts sometime around midnight.
Or at least, that's when you lose yourself or two.

And so there's a change in your emotions
And all of these memories come rushing
Like feral waves to your mind

Then he leaves...
With someone you don't know
But he makes sure you saw him
He looks right at you and bolts
As he walks out the door
Your blood boiling
Your stomach in ropes and when your friends say,
What is it? You look like you've seen a ghost

You just have to see him

Photobucket

and you know he'll break you in two.

Closer

Saturday, August 09, 2008 | 5:17 pm
I'm one of the luckiest girls ever.
I have the bestest friends who don't give up on me when I cry and say I'm weak and never gonna be good enough.
They listen, they advice, and they joke to take the bitter edge off serious matters.

Thanks for listening patiently when I was blabbering and snotty and incoherent.
And most of all, thanks for picking up quickly!
For, if not, I would have called him and my rep is soooo gonna take a dent. Well actually, I told him already when I was feeling much much better and he was being sweet for once! Heeeeheeee.

And especially to meri jaan!
Love you lah babe (:

*ends entry on a lighter mood and sings to Travis' Closer*

And when I see you then I know it will be next to me
And when I need you then I know
you will be there with me

//edit//
Okay, you too ah.
Thanks hunk (:
Btw, omggg i just found out they're most probably scammers ah! But now I feel incredibly stupid and silly and naive so you'll probably have to contend with my being a total jackass when I show you laterrrr. Lol :D

Shoot The Runner

Smarterchild is such a misnomer and just annoying to talk to.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (22:50):

what else can you say?

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (22:50):

Scroll up and look.

Why don't you ask me about the things that I'm here for?

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (22:51):

what are you here for, you stupid fuck?

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (22:51):

Ah yes. If I'm not mistaken, Shakespeare first said that.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:00):

damn you!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:00):

Not only are you insulting a computer, but that's one of the weakest insults I've heard in a long time.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:00):

fuck you!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:00):

Let's talk about something else.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:01):

you're dumb!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:01):

Eh, well. I'm sure we can both go on with our lives.

Why don't you ask me about the things that I'm here for?

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:01):

you sound like acb, and he was a pretentious snob!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:01):

That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:01):

you obnoxious!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:01):

I don't know how to answer that.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:30):

how did fuck come about?

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:30):

Yeah, I remember when I first discovered dirty words...

Grow UP.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:30):

nooo, you grow up!

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:30):

I don't know how to answer that.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:30):

how was fuck discovered?

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:30):

Ah yes. If I'm not mistaken, Shakespeare first said that.

Love, Hate and Rubber Duckies says (23:30):

really?

- SmarterChild - contributing to charity says (23:31):

Yeah. That's right.

What I learnt today: Shakespeare cussed a lot.

Today, Shar and I bumped into Mr Lim (aka Mr G aka Glim) and the first thing that came to my mind was "Damn. He's taller than I remembered" so I looked down to see if he was wearing heeled dress shoes. Nope, adidas sneakers. Meh. Maybe I'm getting shorter.

I digress.

Anyway, catching up with him led to us spouting silly stories from work and assorted random stuff and we all had a good laugh (at least I think he did too). Shar enjoyed laughing so much, she pushed me so she could occupy more space laughing, probably.

Mr Lim: So how's life?
Me: Oh. I quit my job at a mobile gym for kids. I hate kids!
Mr Lim: How long did you last, 2 days?
Me: Omg how did you know?

Freaky.
Anyway, after that, Shar and I went on to exchange horror stories who poop / pee in class. Like seriously, how can anyone stand teaching right? So I asked him,

Me: I've always wanted to ask a teacher this. How do you stand teaching?
Mr Lim: Well, for one, you guys don't poop in class.

Sharlene had a good laugh at this one. I almost fell into the grass patch nearby.
Oh and there's one more. Went something like this...

Me: So I had to bring them to the toilet on like, the first day! And when I gave a boy a tissue, he just threw it into the toilet, and pulled up!
Shar: You didn't have to wipe his butt?
Mr Lim: Are you saying she's an asswipe?

MEGA-LOLZ. (Digression. OH JAMIE, HOW COULD YOU HAVE HOPPED ONTO A RANDOM BUS TO THE FREAKING ESPLANADE!!!)
Kinda makes me wish I was back in his class again. I'll take them, even with the multiple detentions. They were kinda sorta fun.

Speaking of school, I think I'll go Far.
Wah, bad pun.

Ok btw, my new crush is Mike Nader from Melee, He Who Smiles Anytime and Everytime You See Him On Their Music Videos, So Much So You Think He Might Be Retarded, But Still Cute.

3rd guy from left!

Gawd, I'm so fickle-minded. Bdenbaby who?

Folkin' Around

My cousin's getting married, my cousin's getting married, my cousin's getting married!!!
Omgomgomg her wedding's gonna be one of the biggest events of next year and I'll be in charge of some stuff! Cool, I get responsibility! :D

Yeah, I'm pretty much full of glee at the thought.
