I'm Older So You Listen To Me

This picture reminds me of Shimah and all of the wacky things she's said.

A Shredder For My Mind

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 | 12:18 pm
I'll keep me calm with a slew of convictions.
Nothing sings like a good distraction.
I wish my head was a page in a printer: trash bad thoughts with the click of a finger.

I hate having somewhere to go but not being able to go anyway.

Gimme Fiction

I've run out of stuff to watch, save for How I Met Your Mother. (What uuuup? High 5!)
I've just finished watching the season finale for Ugly Betty, and I caught The Office's season finale last week. Oh yes, and Supernatural's too.
What a bummer.

Speaking of bummer, my poor memory is really frustrating me. Last night, I had a really awesome dream of me being a Hunter just like the Winchester brothers. I know the gist of the dream but for the life of me, I can't remember the type of paranormal entity I was dealing with! I do know its characteristics, and one of them is that it likes to assume the shape of a skinny man. In my dream, it was a skinny tanned man with curly hair. Any coincidence that I happen to not like skinny men with curly hair? (The tanned part is fine; tanned skin = athletic!)
Crud, I just remembered Gary Lightbody has curly hair. So do the boys from Flight of the Conchords. Okay, scratch that, curly hair is fine sometimes.

In addition to that, I had two partners with me, but my memory's a little fuzzy as to who they were. I do know that they were girls, and that they were Chinese so I'm guessing it's most likely Sharlene and Eunice. Haha!

I find it highly amusing that my brain should choose Eunice to be one of my sidekicks fellow Hunters because she resembles a ghost herself. AND not forgetting that she doesn't fancy horror shows because she's scared of things that go boo in the night! AND ALSO!!! Eunice, in one of her infamous quotes, substituted the word "panoramic" for "paranormal". Sharlene was in it because she scares cats so it's assumed that she scares other scary things as well. Hmmm.
Or maybe I just missed those 2 buggers too much :D

Anyway, when I remember how the dream goes, I'll note it down and blog about it someday.
Moving on, I'm sorta psyched about this coming Monday. I need need need to see Dina's dude in person. Also, it's been eons since I last saw her! And, if we're in luck, pull some tricks. I can't stand being bored and I fear the entertainment provided will be dull and not comprehensible to the shrivelled pea I adopted in lieu of a brain for the past few months.

Mumster got a job lobang for me as a receptionist at / near the Science Centre.
I'm looking forward to that, incoming money would be great. I need the cash to go reverse bungeeing, among many other adrenalin-pumping activities.

Photobucket

That's not reverse bungee, it's just that I like the picture a lot.

The weekend seems to be looking up, Fasiha's going to be on a week-long trip to Brunei this coming Monday with her school. Great, no annoying kid sister at home!
Plus, seeing him should be fun. I hope it's fun. Please let it be fun. ny.
Yeah :D

Suit Up!

How I Met Your Mother is the third best thing that has happened this week.

I can't adequately describe the awesomeness that is Barney Stinson.

He does magic!

He keeps a blog!

He plays a good "Haaaave you met Ted?"

In short, he's LEGENDARY.

I need to incorporate "Legendary" and "High 5" a lot more into my life from now on.

Oh yes, and Made of Honour is sooo not worth spending something just slightly short of $10 on.
Patrick Dempsey is very charming and good looking, but I could have put my money to better use! Like saving up to buy DVD boxsets of How I Met Your Mother or Supernatural.
Man. OR buying all the Muse CDs and DVDs of their live concerts.
Bummed!

On a sidenote, I hope Lostprophets stage a concert in Singapore.
I need something sliiiightly more substantial to fangirl over besides Panic At The Disco. Really.
While it might seem safer to mosh with tweenaged girls and softieboys, I do not want to be stuck with a ringing sound stuck in my head for hours after Panic's concert. I know how fangirls shriek, they can get worse than "crystal glass breaking" kind of bad.

I want more Barney Stinson awesomeness.
What uuuup?
The end.

A Falling Out We Won't Tiptoe About

I’m slowly warming up to the very possible and probable reality that I will not gain admission into the local universities here so the past few nights I’ve been researching on tertiary education in Australia. This development is pretty remarkable okay, considering how in the past few weeks, I was the girl who looked at the various ads by NUS and NTU and prayed and begged really hard that I be given a chance to be part of their alumni (SMU gave me false hope sia, so I cursed their models / student ambassadors).

Pursuing an overseas education is not going to be easy for sure. Settling in to a different rhythm of life, having to call a foreign country home for the next few years, facing the nadirs and zeniths of life without my family and friends here is going to be mothertough but I guess no pain no gain. Plus, I’ll have to be very frugal and not splurge on unnecessary (but really pretty!) stuff. Food might be a bit of a problem, depending on where I go (UNSW won’t present much of a problem in terms of halal food availability. The main shopping centre nearby has 6 halal restaurants!). On second thought, I really should take some weight off, I’ve been told I look pudgier and have a big ass (thanks ah, you) so anyplace with a lack of halal restaurants would not be so bad, haha.

I’m going to miss my family, my BFF, my dear PWC, Hunk (HAHA), my girrrrlfriend :P and all the other people who made my days kickass but that hardly matters right. They’re all gonna be busy living their lives in this tiny red dot, esp the PWC who are gonna be preoccupied with crushing over the English Lit prof and new guys in their new schools and whatnot.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for admission to either NUS or NTU, however unlikely that may be, but in the event that doesn’t work out, I guess I still have a Plan B. Plus, I might have a real shot at pursuing a degree course that I actually want to do instead of castoff choices that a student with my abysmal grades will most likely warrant.

Now to put the gears in motion.
I need to find a full time job again and save up for hefty tuition fees!

Wish me luck, people.

p/s. Congrats Eunice for making it into Eng Lit fac in NTU! You can continue swooning over that angmoh! Oh yeah, take pics plz, I haven’t gotten a glimpse of how he looks like. According to my other sources, he’s cute but they have questionable tastes (as do you; Remember Renji? LOLZ).
