So What's It Gonna Take, Silver Shadow Believer?

Well this just fudging sucks, I can't post onto my blogpost directly without me being directed to some page that informs me that bloody Google thinks my com may be a spamming agent. Godangit. But thank technology for the cross-posting option!

Let's get to it and break it down.

Spongebob Tease - Valentines Day

I seriously thought V-Day would be a ho-hum affair, seeing how I'm
a) working and not in school with mah boos
b) down with an eye infection, rendering me a bit of an invalid
c) singleeeeeee.

Boy was I mistaken.

From unexpected smses to even more unexpected calls, that day was a pleasant surprise after another.

*Handphone blares out Old Yellow Bricks (which is a catchy Wizard-of-Oz inspired song by the Arctic Monkeys, go ch-ch-check it outtt)*

"Hello?"
"Farhana, are you busy?"
"Uhhh, not really."
"Yes or no?"
"Uhhh, no."
"Okay, come down now."
"WHATTT."

And then it hit me 12 seconds later that the bestie was waiting at the lobby of my office building that I ohmygogged so loud my colleagues thought someone died.

The rest of the day just went uphill from there. Bumped into people at the most unexpected of places and had dinner with Midah and Nabilah at NY Pizza which turned out to be such a good, casual and hilar affair. Hee-lair.

Arun the Pizza Guy: "Farhanaaaaaa!"
*Whole table erupts in laughter*
Ears burning, thinking why the hell I didn't give him another name like *phlegm*+"eye" (hehe), and I went up to the counter and collected Shimah's and my order. Went back to the table to be greeted by:-

Midah: "Eh, he called you really nicely!"
Shimah: "Yaa, don't you think he's got that Bollywood look to him?"
Nab: "Eh look, the Farhana guy is looking our direction!"
Me: "Don't call him the Farhana guy!"
Midah: "Okay, Farhana's guy then."
Me: "OI THAT'S WORSE LAH! But he said my name like I've never heard it before, my gawd, it was like a song!"

On the way home, we bumped into Sam and mildly disrupted human traffic flow in the transit passageway at Outram Park MRT station. That woman can carve a fine and illustrious career as a stand-up comic, I swear.

Probably the best V-day so far. HAPPY VDA AH.

Miss Hymm Before The Par, Sure! - Sunday

Sunday wrapped up a positively smashing weekend.

Went out with mumzers and the sisters for grocery shopping and dinner and then back home where I chatted with a reflecting mirror.

I really have it good in life thus far.
It's weird how something unfortunate can turn out to be a pretty good thing.
Case in point: Eye problems. 'Nuff said.

Nineteen-oh-two - Tuesday

"There are 2 ways to face fear. It's very simple, get this...
Either you Fuck Everything And Run or you Face Everything And Recover!"

And that was Des, my new Irish acquaintance, and that was one of the most brilliant advice I've heard.

"Hey there, you there!"
"Yes?"
"Alright, help me out here. I want to send an email to the Malaysian office. Does it sound alright if I say I want this CV to be formatted but this does not take top priority?"
"Yeah of course, it sounds pretty clear to me. They do speak English, you know."
"Yes, but not good enough. I should know, I've worked there!"

Oh oh here's another acronym.

"Jesus, I don't understand all these! What an organised mess!"
"What's the matter now?"
"I can't open this email, the file attachment! And this one refuses to be sent!"
"Ahh. Well I know how to get around this problem."

*Clicks here, there, everywhere necessary till his little conundrum was solved*

"Ahh, what would I ever do without you? You're brilliant, anyone ever told you that?"
"Yes, but I usually don't believe them because if you believe the compliments, you have to believe the insults as well."
"Oh well. About this technology thing, they really should adopt the KISS strategy."
"Kiss?" (thinking Gene Simmons and his band)
"Keep It Simple, Stupid! Though in your case, Keep It Simple, Sweetheart is more appropriate." (flashes a smile and pats my arm)

Man, that man is one charmer.
One freaking cool dude.
The grandfather everyone would show off, haha.

Anywoots, this has been one long entry. If you're still reading this, you must have been hard up of other better things to do. Shall prolly continue another day. Sleepy.
