Pushing the boundaries

It's been a dynamic week where I attempted to push myself to test the waters, stand out on the edge of the earth but it's all good now(:
I was offered a free ticket to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix though unfortunately, I had to turn it down eventually because the Mum deemed it a treat that I did not deserve, especially after the appalling common test results. It was a tough decision to make, but I agree with my mum 'cause after all, Mum knows best.
However, I did get to spend time with Shimah and Midah and it felt fantabulous just spazzing out like that. On a sidenote, I foresee an additional member to our study sessions. Key word "foresee" and not "hope", ohkayyyyy.
My weekend (which included Friday the 13th) went like a charm.
In a nutshell,
- Got free tix to Harry Potter movie (let's ignore the fact that I didn't watch it in the end)
- Cute guy approached me for help and directions (YEEEEEEEEEHAW!)
- 3 hours of good times, man, good times...
- SMS-es that were awesome pick-me-ups and dare I say it, pick-up liners (:
- Cheesy pick-up lines that were darn hilarious; Consist of polar bears and palm readings
- Parent-teacher meeting that went by smoothly
- Lil cousin's birthday party
- Finally spilling the beans on 'Mat Pantun' to the cousin who knows his corny mannerisms better (No thanks to Shyqah who laughed a lot during the whole time)
- A butterfly necklace from HK from Shyqah!
- Lame-o poems from the daddy-o (I'm starting to fear that I inherited my sense of humour from him

Easily one of the best comics of my time
In other news, I've discovered that adopting a no-holds-barred approach when talking to a person who dreams, thinks and understands gives me a feeling of liberation like no other.
(I say that because good friends don't always understand what we're trying to convey and their responses can be irritatingly mundane and abysmal, but heck, you're also my good friend even if I'm not yours. Oh gocks, that sounded rather pathetic, somehow.)
Sure, it may all sound like crazy talk but what the heck, I got a kick out of it. For that moment, it's as though we were 8 year-olds playing Grown-Up, shedding our 18 year old skins, not taking into consideration the less-than-glamorous aspects of adulthood like paying the bills and going to work and carrying ourselves well in public and being responsible and all that jazz.
A form of escapism, if you will. Or perhaps detox for the soul.
Of late, it seems that there's been lots of black thorny bits latching on to me, like minuscule gremlins that are a product of disappointing interactions with friends/family or simply terrible academic performance or perhaps both at the same time, and getting them all out in the open came as a relief.
So I enjoy having good lengthy chats with you till the wee hours.
So I dare to ask unbelievably silly questions sometimes.
So I find you kinda attractive.
All these things that would have normally embarrassed me, did not in the end because I've learnt to see past the superficiality of these matters.
I liken it to the experience those people who first realised that the world is not flat after all - what a heck of a relevation.
I'm still tingling from the after-effects of the conversation and I wonder if you think it's as rad as I think it was.
