I say teachers should go for a courtesy test before they can become the educators of the nation. Some teachers are oh-so-BITCHY. Take a certain lit lecturer for example. True story.
She-thing (blech!) : I don't know who you are but you've got acne on your face. Why aren't you taking all this down?
Boy : I'm listening first. Then I'll copy it down.
And there was silence. For a millisecond, that is. Then there was a rush of mutterings of all sorts from the people present in the lecture theatre.
-Wah so evil...
-What a Bitch! [Note the capitalisation. For those of you who take literature (Dickens' Great Expectations is one fine example), you'll realise its significance.]
-Poor guy
-Damn mean
There were even worse remarks made about the teacher but let's not embark on that part of the story. The point is, teachers are often seen as role models. Not only do teachers impart knowledge, but they also strive to instill some values in all students. Honesty is a fine virtue, to be sure, but such brutal frankness is just plain callous.
