burning hot at 38.2d

Ho hum. What a day to fall ill. Just took my temperature and guess what, peeps? I'm HOT. Literally. 38.2 degrees Celcius. I've got a nasty bout of flu, fever and sore throat. Argh. Sigh... WHY THE HELL CAN'T I GET ALL OF THIS ON A SCHOOL DAY??? Just my luck to get it in the holidays, and on a Saturday too, no less. Bah!
Agenda for today:
  1. Go to the hospital and get Atok's medicine.
  2. Attend a family function at Cik Kin's house. Whoopee. After a long time, I'll get to meet my cousins again!

Grumble. I wouldn't have to go to the hospital and get those medicine if Atok had only cared to wait for his proper discharge from hospital. As it is, he simply upped and stormed off the ward, ignoring the nurses' calls to stay and wait for the doctor.

Am I awfully glad I'm not a nurse nor a doctor there. Looking after elderly people has got to be one of the suckiest jobs of all time.

To prove my point, let me relate to you what happened the last time I went to the hospital to attend to my granddad. There was this old guy opposite Atok's bed and he had some hip problems or something of that sort. He wanted to arrange his pillows at the foot of the bed in a manner where his feet would rest comfortably on those pillows but he couldn't do it as, like I said, his hip problems made it difficult for him. So guess what he did next? He called a nurse? Nope. He called me instead. He tried to explain to me what he wanted but I simply could not get him. So I tried various ways of arranging the pillows but I only succeeded in making him more frustrated with me after each try. He then asked, " Are you even Malay? Do you not understand Malay??" for all that time, he was talking to me in my mother tongue. To which I replied, "Yes, uncle." It's only that I do NOT comprehend what it is that you want me to do. Stack those pillows? Put them under your feet? What? What? Sheesh. Blame it on your limited vocabulary of Malay words. And the cheek of you to ask me if I understand Malay. In the end, I got a nursing student to attend to him. Heh. She got the pillow arrangement right. Well done.

Aww crap. I think I just earned myself a one-way ticket to Hell. NO...!!! That would mean I'll see that old pillow guy again!!! Good grief. I'd better stop.
